Friday Flowers

Mom believes these are Dahlias. She has planted a hodgepodge of perennials in her jungle garden. However, she does remember buying pink Dahlias and planting them. She can't figure out what else she would have bought that these might have grown from over the last many years.

These bloomed in June, which surprised Mom because they are usually blooming in late July or August. The weather seems to have some of our flowers off cycle. She's not complaining too much because she was getting fresh Asparagus from the garden in late June when it usually is gone at the beginning of the month.

  1. Well, whatever they are...they sure are bright and cheerful! Have a terrierific weekend!

  2. We are not Plant experts by any means... butt we THINK those are PEONY Blossoms... Ours bloom in LATE May and into June. They SMELL like ROSES...

  3. Thanks Frankie. As we said Mom planted tons of stuff and failed to document all of it.

  4. We just love pink dahlias and all kinds of pink flowers!! The dahlias here in Northern Coastal CA seem to bloom all summer long from the end of May through August!

  5. I don't think they're dahlias, because those you have to dig up and replant every year. They can't tolerate new england winters. But, I'm not sure what they would be. Seems too late for peonies....hmmmm, a perennial mystery.

    They sure are pretty!

  6. Those are so, so, so beautiful! Love the colour!

  7. Wow, those are beautiful flowers! And you grow your own asparagus? I've always wanted to try that... Enjoy it!

  8. Those are BEAUTIFUL blooms!! Betters than what Ma's plants have been doin' lately!
    Ruby ♥

  9. Those are absolutely beautiful flowers!! Dahlia's are my favorite!! Love the color!!

  10. Well, whatever they are, they're gorgeous!!!!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!

  11. The weather does seem to be making the flowers act funny and come out early, but those look beautiful. What a nice surprise to find in her jungle!
