A Delayed April Fool's Joke

Saturday I was sitting here on the last snow desperately trying to hold on to the last of our precious snow cookies. Mom thought it was cute and had to shoot pictures of my attempts to hold on to the last bit of cooling tasty snow. We had a beautiful warm day on Easter and Mom had visions of tulips, irises, and lilies coming up and blooming. Well little did she know Annie and I had other plans. Monday morning beautiful tasty snow began to fall and we have a yard of snow cookies again. Dog Dad says Spring snow doesn't last long, but he didn't expect we'd get more snow today, so we have hopes for long term Spring snow cookies.

Mom and Dad Have Been Under the Weather

Have you ever noticed the odd expressions humans have. Dad says he and Mom have been under the weather and that's why they just don't have the energy for playing and walks like they normally do. Dad have you felt the snow falling on your head? You are under the weather every day.

They seem to be doing better, which has us feeling happier. You have no idea how much work it is to be a bed warmer for sick dog parents. They want you to stay with them and keep them warm. Then they complain you are taking up too much of the bed. They aren't rational when they are sick.

We have been enjoying the games though. Katy has taken to curling, Bailey not so much this time around. Perhaps he's outgrown it. Bailey's been more into hockey and the extreme sports this time around. We both enjoyed watching the skating. Mom and Dad watched all the team and individual competitions so we got caught up with all the skating.

Our snow cookie totals are really adding up. We think perhaps we may have over done our cookie prayers. We had two storms in two days that had significant cookie fall. Today it's raining so the cookies are getting washed away a bit. Tonight when it gets cold they'll likely freeze. Frozen cookies are an interesting taste. Unlike Mom and Dad the snow seems to have energized us. We have had some wild games of snow tag. Even when it isn't snowing we come in looking like snow dogs.

We are looking forward to watching the last of the events this weekend and then the closing ceremonies.

The First Snow Cookies of the Year

It snowed yesterday and we were treated to the first fresh snow cookies of the year. The best thing about snow cookies is Mom doesn't care how many we eat. We can run around the yard and scoop up as much as we want and she doesn't seem to worry about it ruining our dinner. That's what she says when we want to many of our other snacks.

We are still having wet weather, but it is more sleet than snow at this point.

This is our friend Mrs. Pumpkin. She has been on our porch for a while now. She had a brief trip indoors during the hurricane, but moved outside afterwards as we missed having her out there. Mom and Dad seem to think she will be traveling some time before Thanksgiving. We will miss her as we have spent hours sunning ourselves next to her.

Sheltie Snow Cookies

Katy and Bailey love their snow cookies. They rush out after each storm sticking their noses into the cold snow to scoop up fresh snow. We dupped these snow cookies because they pursue these snow treats with as much delight and enthusiasm as any dog treats we buy. They seem thrilled with the idea that they can have as many as they wish without restriction. There is no need to ask for them, they merely scoop them up and enjoy.

Bailey has always had an issue with drinking water. Snow cookies in the winter and ice cubes in the summer help combat dehydration. Since Katie's arrival and her embrace of the multiple water bowls we keep around the house, Bailey has improved his water drinking habits. However, I do not believe either dog would surrender the joy of fresh winter snow cookies.
