Bailey and Katy came to us as rescues. We lost Bailey in June of 2016 and Katy in November of 2022. We were blessed to have Annie join us in August of 2016. They have brought great love and joy to our immediate family and to extended family and friends. This blog will share their stories and issues related to Shelties. Some told from their perspective and others told from those that share this journey with them. Notice: This blog does have Amazon product links and Google Adsense

Thankful Thursday: Air Conditioning
After a very hot and stormy Tuesday night, Dog Dad installed the upstairs Air Conditioner, Wednesday. He is going to install the downstairs A/C this morning before he heads off to work.
Mom and Dad always go back and forth, about how long they can hold out before putting in the window A/C's. The upside is it cuts down on the heat in the house and with two furry dogs, this is important. The down side is on cooler, windy days, you lose the opportunity to cool off the house using those windows. Some day Mom hopes to replace the window units with central air. That would allow Mom to open up when it’s nice and cool off when it’s just too hot.
We are just thrilled that Dog Dad has solved the heat problem.

Glad you are managing to stay cool. Have a tremendous Thursday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
That is one thing we couldn't live without is the ac.....
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky, in our new house we don't even have window units. Lady makes us be hot. We don't care that the house stays fairly cool downstairs all year, we want a/c. Enjoy some of it for us!
ReplyDeleteAir Conditioning - AMEN! We love our air conditioning too!
ReplyDeleteGlad your staying cool. I don't mind not having air.
ReplyDeleteThat is always the dilemma! I love opening windows on a cool day, but I can't stand being all hot and sticky in my house! Our air conditioners have been in for a few weeks. Although, we haven't used them every day. So we could have waited a bit longer. Ah well! My huskies love them, and always take a spot right underneath the windows to cool down. Thanks for linking up with us!
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
Air conditioning is always good.
ReplyDeleteSince we live near the beach we don't have AC only ceiling fans. We say put it on!!

Glad that the AC is in...when you are so furry it's tough to stay cool isn't it?

ReplyDeleteWe haven't pulled out the a/c yet, but probably will sometime in July - that seems to be the routine. As usual, our June is fairly cold (14°C/57°F today) and rainy, so we're not quite there yet. But I say as soon as you start to think you need it, do it! With Moses and Alma, they definitely appreciate it and lay right in front of the a/c on hot summer days.
ReplyDeleteYAY Dad! Does that mean father's day celebration is extended?

Yeah, the heat can beat problem! Open windows are great when you can have them.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like going into a nice, cooled home on a hot and humid day! Glad you are getting yours up and running! :)
ReplyDeleteWe have wall units in the living room and master bedroom. Since we live in an elevated area I got away without using the air until yesterday!
ReplyDeleteWe installed a window unit in the room Sampson and I share last night, but thankfully it has two windows so on the days/nights when it's nice I can still access that. I too hope to have central air someday.
Thank you for joining the blog hop.
The heat is the worst! Yay for AC! We don't have any yet, but we might get some installed soon.
ReplyDeleteno matter how you have to have it, you will be glad you have air when it's hot!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining the Barks and Bytes hop. Glad you found a way to stay cool. We just had to replace our central air yesterday. It was very old. The new units are nice. :)
ReplyDeletePug is definitely thankful for AC too! He is like his mom, gets overheated easily.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a better alternative for the window AC eventually. I love to have my wondows unblocked! But totally agree that the heat can be unbearable. It's hot over here too.
ReplyDeleteliving in so cal we absolutely love our air conditioner. bailey however, probably wishes it would break. she loves the hot weather, blankets and sweaters.
