Bailey and Katy came to us as rescues. We lost Bailey in June of 2016 and Katy in November of 2022. We were blessed to have Annie join us in August of 2016. They have brought great love and joy to our immediate family and to extended family and friends. This blog will share their stories and issues related to Shelties. Some told from their perspective and others told from those that share this journey with them. Notice: This blog does have Amazon product links and Google Adsense

Katy and Bailey's Book Selection of the Week
Katy was getting a bit impatient after last week's vacation from books on CD. She likes her morning story. Bailey is very specific about the stories he finds worthy of his time. He prefers TV to audio books.
While Katy and Bailey both disliked the movie versions of Harry Potter, Katy really enjoyed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I was busy working on a swap project that needed to be mailed this week, but Katy insisted on poking me every time the story stopped.
Bailey continues not to be a Harry Potter fan. Movie or audio books versions still cause him to vacate the room.
I am curious about what Katy found attractive about the story.

Awww, we're big Harry Potter fans in our house. Taylor said she would go to school at Hogwarts if given the chance. ;)
ReplyDeleteWoofs & hugs <3,
~Bailey (Yep, I'm a girl!)
Hhmm as you know if you see my blog I LOVE HP but Im not sure how the dogs feel about it, we dont have any audio books. Personally, I choose to interpret barking at the TV as a sign the dogs like the show. They all like too sit on the couch and watch any TV shows or movies with us. In my opinion they like the second Harry Potter movie best, Chamber of Secrets, because of the scene with Hagrid's dog fan and the Spiders. They get very excited during that part.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Katy likes the voice of the person reading Deathly Hallows
At first I really thought it was the voices. However, some of these readers have read multiple series and she does have her preferences among what they read. She seem to like certain stories and others leave her uninterested.
ReplyDeleteWe thought Harry Potter picked up interest when Fluffy was on the scene.
ReplyDeleteThis really fascinates me. I wonder if it is the rhythm of the story. I know different authors produce different rhythms thru their sentence structure.
ReplyDeleteFor example, Danielle Steel books have very short sentences.
Wow sounds interesting. I'm not a big Harry Potter fan -- well that is I don't know if I'm a Harry Potter fan -- because Mommy isn't a Harry Potter fan. So, we don't watch it. Mommy thinks that show will give us both nightmares! I'm with Bailey on that one -- better to just leave the room!
ReplyDeleteOh yea I love to do anything as long as I is with the Momma!
ReplyDeletewoos, Tessa
