Bailey and Katy came to us as rescues. We lost Bailey in June of 2016 and Katy in November of 2022. We were blessed to have Annie join us in August of 2016. They have brought great love and joy to our immediate family and to extended family and friends. This blog will share their stories and issues related to Shelties. Some told from their perspective and others told from those that share this journey with them. Notice: This blog does have Amazon product links and Google Adsense

Mama made us a blanket
We are not sure what to think of our blanket. We do not tend to embrace change, but it is soft. After all we are the king and queen of fleece, can we embrace yarn?
Mama started a couple of experiments a while back and then stopped when they were not headed in the direction she wanted. She was considering pulling them out, but I have been trying to sit on and snuggle on the cat afghan she is making for a family member. I must say while I objected to her not making a dog afghan, the cats are remarkably comfortable and I cannot begin to see why I cannot use it while she is working on it.
Ok so I have a tendency to claw and chew a bit and this yarn is more delicate than the yarn she used for my blanket. I am resisting not getting to choose my own blanket. I think the cat one would suit me.

ReplyDeleteThat looks complicated but then I have never learned to knit. Now make sure you don't chew on it....careful...
ReplyDeletepretty neat! my mom ATTEMPTED to knit me a collar once. SAD DAY
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blanket, our mom really needs to learn crochet so she can make us some neat things like that
ReplyDeleteA cool blanket! I say who cares who pic is on it just NAP!
ReplyDeletewoos, Tessa
So beautiful!!! Your mom is so clever!
ReplyDeleteWell I can see why you like the cat one, but honestly, if it's warm and snuggly and soft....well...who cares what's on it! You're a lucky dog to get a blanket made just for doggies!
ReplyDeleteThe cat one is so cool! Grandma knows how to crochet, Mommy has tried and tried and can't get the hang of it. So, once Grandma was crocheting something and it wasn't the way she wanted it -- and totally pulled it apart. Mommy was yelling -- stop, don't do that -- that was way better than anything I could have done!. But Grandma pulled it apart. (I think if you made Baily a football or baseball themed blanket - it would match his other blankets and he wouldn't pick on the treads/yarns.)
