Friday Flowers: Oriental Lilies

Mom is so pleased to see these blooming this year. The last few years they've been under nasty attack by beatles. She doesn't know if it was a change in the weather of just a beatle cycle, but for the first time in ages, the Oriental Lilies seem to be doing well.

I am not sure why Mom gets so excited when she sees one in bloom. Hoewver, if she wants to give me treats for posing by one, who am I to complain?

  1. I can see why mom gets excited, Katie! Those lilies are gorgeous, thank goodness the evil beetles have gone! That is a lovely photo of you as well, Katie.

  3. OMD, those are BEAUTIFUL! We were really excited too just looking at your pretty Lily flowers. Our Mommy planted hundreds of dollars of those bulbs in our yard when we bought our house 6 years ago. Little did she know that the deer think they are caviar!!

That bright pink lily is what I, Lily Belle, am named after. Mommy's very favorite flower.

Thanks for sharing your garden with us. You made our day!

  6. Beautiful! I bought a potted one for Easter and am hoping I can get it to bloom again. But that is that pesky problem of my "black thumb." :)

  9. Gorgeous! I had one oriental lily coming this year. It popped up unexpectedly and I was excited to see what color it was going to be. Then I came out one morning and the deer had eaten the buds off!!! So disappointing!
