What is It About Bunnies?

Someone else mentioned this in a post yesterday, so I know we are not alone. Mama is cool with us chasing just about any critters in the yard with the exception of skunks (which from what we have been told is justified) and bunnies. She will cheer us on as we chase down squirrels, but a cute fluffy bunny and she loses it. She becomes protector of all that is wild. She is very strict about the no chasing the bunnies rule.

Wait until that fluffy thing gets into her lettuce and we will see how kindly she feels towards it and its growing family then.

  2. Well they are so cute, I dont think anything a bunny would eat could upset me, unless it was a dog or cat they ate. I loved when there were bunnies about where I grew up

  4. But it could be the Easter Bunny or Peter Cottontail.

  5. Mommy said she used to have a bunny as a pet as a kid. His name was Joey. That's why she gets all protective about bunnies.

Mommy also doesn't eat fish -- because she used to have goldfish as pets too when she was a kid. She even named them, eventhough most of them looked alike.

People think she is odd because she doesn't eat any kind of fish or seafood, not even Fishsticks -- she tells them the line from the movie Nemo -- Fish are Friends -- not food!

People tell her -- I bet if you lived on a farm-- you would be a vegetarian.

  6. Jan I suspect the Easter Bunny may be at the root of Mama's issues although she'll deny it.

Mom also doesn't eat fish although she has no issue with meat. It has something to do with the smell or the texture. She was forced to try a variety of types as a child and has never developed a taste. She was VERY grateful when her father decided pizza was an alternative to fish for meatless Fridays during Lent. The torture ended with a very close relationship to the local Pizza shop.

  7. HAHAHAHA! We use to have a pet bunny and we would snuggle with her. She use to lick us sometimes. So we don't chase them unless they are not part of the pack. Then it's about defending our territory. So we can see why you would chase them. :)

Charcoal and Charcoal. One tried to cross the road and the other was chased away by a stray dog... I missed them somethingy fierce. THAT is why I begged fur my very own Puppy.
