Happy Gotcha Day Teddy!!

We met Teddy and his sisters on a cold January day and while they were all adorable something said Teddy was going to be our new dog.

This has been something of a crazy year and while I hoped to post so many puppy blog entries it didn't work out that way. Instead we were busy living the puppy life. He has been such an amazing blessing in our lives.

He turned one in November and this week he will be getting nuetered. Our Vet wanted us to wait until he was one and it seemed a challenge to try doing it during the holidays so while not much of a gotcha gift it will be off the list of dreaded anticipations on our calendar. Since all our dogs were rescues or breeder placements we have never gone through this so like all things with Teddy we are breaking new ground.

We do still check on the Blogger feed to see how our friends are doing although we don't always stop to leave comments. We hope all of your are fairing well this winter. It has been a bit cold lately, typical of New England. Teddy and Annie are both loving the snow.

Happy 1st Birthday Teddy!!!

It is hard to believe this this large happy fellow was once this tiny little fellow. It has been an amazing year of growth.

Happy Birthday my precious boy. While time seems to fly around you we are enjoying the journey.

Since we don't post as often as we used to we are so excited to announce one of our favorite dog photographers is back doing a dog pictures with Santa fundraiser and we've already booked an appointment. Teddy's first experience with Santa will be with the best available.

I was pretty sure I couldn't repeat what we put Annie through last year where they took the dog(s) into a separate room to take the pictures and the dog owners weren't alloweed to be with the dogs. They eventually ended up asking us to come as Annie freaked out. She'd always done it with Katy and that was her first year on her own. I can only imagine what mischief Teddy would start unsupervised. I think they are also doing Frosty instead of Santa. Nothing against Frosty but I like the pics with Santa.

I am so grateful we will going to a different location but a familiar photographer. Not only do I love the yearly picks with Santa but if I don't get the cards out quickly enough I hear from people asking me if we got the pictures done, so I know others find the pics adorable as well.

Meet Teddy the Newest Member of Sheltie Times

We are used to long searches for our new Sheltie family members so we were quite surprised that we found Teddy just as we were gearing up for the prep to search.

A wonderful woman reached out to me at Sheltie Nation with the names of breeders in our area with puppies available right away.

One of the challenges of finding a new dog is finding good quality breeders. Often the most well advertised breeders are not the ones you want to do business with and the higher quality breeders just don't have the time for an online presence easily located by those hoping to find them. When you have people willing to help you make the match it is such a blessing.

Teddy was born November 25, 2022 and were were very blessed to have him join our Sheltie pack on January 21, 2022 at 8 weeks old. He had 3 adorable sisters. It was hard to decide but Teddy seemed a good choice with Annie. I do wish we'd taken pictures while at the meet and greet but we were so focused on all the interactions and trying to choose that we didn't want the phones to be the focus. It would have been nice to have a family picture for his record.

Teddy loves toys, chasing balls, and is all energy. We are so grateful to Ann at Sheltie Nation and Acadia Shelties in CT for helping us find our new family member. It has been busy getting adjusted as we were really at the thinking about doing this not doing this righ now stage, but it has been worth all the craziness for this beautiful bundle of joy.
