Bailey and Katy came to us as rescues. We lost Bailey in June of 2016 and Katy in November of 2022. We were blessed to have Annie join us in August of 2016. They have brought great love and joy to our immediate family and to extended family and friends. This blog will share their stories and issues related to Shelties. Some told from their perspective and others told from those that share this journey with them. Notice: This blog does have Amazon product links and Google Adsense

Dad's Birthday Present
We were supposed to get back to posting last week, but Mom got involved with the local library book sale and she got behind with all her blogging. Can you imagine putting the library before our blog?
The last time we blogged we said Grandma made a special present for us for Dad's birthday. You might have noticed we have a bit of a love of fleece. Mama's Aunt made Bailey a Patriot's blanket of his own before Katy came into the family. Mama is not so good with a sewing machine. She claims they have it in for her. Grandma came to the rescue so the Patriot's blankie could be rested. It gets a periodic washing, but unlike Dad's sport fleece that get's rotated with the sports seasons, the Patriot's blankie has not had a break in a LONG time. Dad told Mama the Joann's has fleece on sale. Grandma told Mama if she could find the rest of the Boston sports teams in fleece she'd make our blankies. For that it might be worth letting the parents leave the house.
We are still working out the details of who gets to use which blanket, when, but we technically each have our own Red Sox blanket to rest on while watching them play.

Shelties React to Celtic's Playoff Loss
My husband is a huge sports fan and Bailey has been his loyal watching companion since he arrived. For the first time, Katy jumped up during the game and snuggled with hubby last night, as the situation was tense. We shot this photograph, as it was clear the Celtic’s playoff hopes were over for the season. My husband is still holding out hope for the Bruins and Katy does seem fascinated by the moving puck. Bailey does not have too many sports he is not willing to sit and watch.

Disappointed Red Sox Fans
Bailey and Katy love watching sports with my husband. As the Red Sox season opened, they eagerly found their spots to watch the games. Bailey settles on the couch on his Patriots blanket. Katy watches from the front of the couch.
They actually do seem to be focused on the game. However, I think their excitement is primarily based on how happy or frustrated my husband is with the state of the game. The opening of the season has not been a happy one for the dogs. They are hoping the Yankees series will change the pace of the game.
