Bailey and Katy came to us as rescues. We lost Bailey in June of 2016 and Katy in November of 2022. We were blessed to have Annie join us in August of 2016. They have brought great love and joy to our immediate family and to extended family and friends. This blog will share their stories and issues related to Shelties. Some told from their perspective and others told from those that share this journey with them. Notice: This blog does have Amazon product links and Google Adsense

Remembering Bailey on his Birthday
Well technically Bailey's birthday would have been Saturday but we rarely post on weekends. 15 years ago a beautiful Sheltie boy was born and we were blessed to have him in our lives for 13 years.
He was one of the most social and welcoming dogs I've even known. When our scared and frightened Katy arrived Bailey made it his personal mission to help her feel safe, learn to play, and embrace life.

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday at the Rainbow Bridge Bailey! What a handsome fellow. That couch is AMAZING!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my grandmother's friends gave that to Bailey. We were moving her from her apartment to a nursing home and she lived a good deal away from my Aunt and I. I couldn't leave Bailey all day and the building was dog friendly and Bailey was amazing around people so we brought him with us. I had a blanket for him to lay on and the woman saw him on the floor and was upset he didn't have a bed to lay on so she offered her dog's bed. I was thinking like the ones we had at home and she brings in this beautiful Victorian Couch. Turns out her beloved dog had passed and it was a constant reminder that she no longer had the dog. The apartments were also small so I suspect it took up a good deal of room, too. Bailey loved that couch, even though it was slightly too small for him. The girls prefer to be on the floor.
ReplyDeleteBailey sounds a lot like our Fenris. We hope Angel Bailey is having a great Barkday at the Rainbow Bridge.
ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet memories!
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to get back into the blog-visiting groove. We're sorry we've been absent. It's Mom's fault. No, really!
