Wild Bunny Advice

While Mama has no problem with us chasing squirrels, mice, and many other wild creatures from the yard, Mom and Dad have become attached to the wild bunnies visiting the yard.

Now we know that when these bunnies start eating Mom's veggie garden she will appreciate our vigilance in scaring the bunnies away now. However, right now she is against our scaring the bunnies. Last night we went out and there was a bunny bold as could be sitting right in the middle of the yard without a care in the world. It had to smell dog everywhere and still not a care in the world. Dad says he has found it in one of the flower gardens this spring as he has been cleaning it out. It likes hanging out in the growth that needs to be cleaned out from last fall. We did what any dog would do we chased it into the tiny space it keeps squeezing into to get into the yard. Dad was not pleased with us.

So what would you guys do?

  1. That's the problem, bunnies are just so darn cute that us humans won't let our doggies chase them! I know it's not fair. :)

  3. This is almost too hard for Shelties who just want to do their job...you want to "herd" them up and have them be where they are suppose to be. I think when the bunny begins to nibble and eat the garden they will be happy with you of chasing the bunny away.

  5. Mmmmm... it's ok to chase other wild animals but bunnies. Not fair! The only wild creature we find at the back yard is squirrels and we're not allowed to go backyard when they come and ask for food!
Mom says city life is sometime tough and we have to listen to her.

  9. Well, I can see both sides of the problem. How can you NOT chase those pesky wabbits! BUT, they are so cute, you don't want to hurt them. I think your best bet is to just do what mommy wants.

  10. Oh, I would so be chasing that bunny! Although they ARE kinda cute. My family once had bunnies -- one before they got married and then 2 afterwards. They would probably not let me chase them though. *Sigh*
