Bailey and Katy came to us as rescues. We lost Bailey in June of 2016 and Katy in November of 2022. We were blessed to have Annie join us in August of 2016. They have brought great love and joy to our immediate family and to extended family and friends. This blog will share their stories and issues related to Shelties. Some told from their perspective and others told from those that share this journey with them. Notice: This blog does have Amazon product links and Google Adsense

Christmas Wrapping
Katy here for some reason Annie has completely unreasonably loud reactions to certain normal household sounds like for instance TAPE!!! You can only imagine how wonderful it makes this time of year and of course the prep for birthdays and other gift giving occasions. As you can see she's losing it while Mom is wrapping the last of the Christmas presents while I her loving sister am trying to calm her down. I hope Santa isn't seeing this as she was also chewing on Dad's shoes again this week.
Here's Mom trying to demonstrate to Annie that the tape is in fact harmless.
Then clueless as ever, what was it I was barking about again?

Tape duzn't do anything for me, but I HATE garbage bags!
ReplyDeleteTape well for me it is the crinkle sound of plastic bottles of water. Don't like that at all. Maybe SantaPaws could bring you some ear plugs Annie.

We all have our pet peeves. Hopefully the present wrapping went well. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteAnnie could be Dakota's CLONE! He goes nuts when I: stir eggs, open aluminum foil, change a light bulb, spray pan spray into a pan, use butter spray, open the butter container, when toast pops up from the toaster.....things you would NEVER expect!! Some Shelties are "quirky" and we each have one of those! xoxo DakotasDen
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that. All of them have always hated loud noises, but Annie is sensitive to any noise and it is nice to know it isn't something that happened before she came to us, it is just a "sheltie" thing we hadn't encountered before.
ReplyDeleteMabel "alerts" me when the washer and dryer buzz to let me know they are done BOL!

We used to have a dog who was petrified of the measuring tape! I fully expected Luke to be the same way, because he's scared of so much, but he's fine with it (and tape too!). You just never know sometimes!
