Bailey and Katy came to us as rescues. We lost Bailey in June of 2016 and Katy in November of 2022. We were blessed to have Annie join us in August of 2016. They have brought great love and joy to our immediate family and to extended family and friends. This blog will share their stories and issues related to Shelties. Some told from their perspective and others told from those that share this journey with them. Notice: This blog does have Amazon product links and Google Adsense

Rainy Mondays
We woke this morning to a wet and dreary world. Mom says we best not be doing the snow cookie dance after seeing all the pictures of Buffalo. After all, there can be too much of a good thing. Not being able to get out the door to go potty, would be a huge problem.
Saturday, we got to see one of our favorite sheep and she lavished us with lots of love and attention. Sunday we rested up because Mom told us we were going to visit the big Red Guy, yep, Santa. Normally, Mom isn't crazy about Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving, but she has been looking at all the available dates to get our pictures taken and the ones in our area all seem to be later this year. I'm sure people have good reasons, but Mom already had conflicts for those dates. Then she found there was a date available this past Sunday and we were off to talk to the big guy.
Katy was nervous, but she seems to have a real thing for Santa. No matter where we meet him, he is one of the few humans she seems OK with despite her normal fear of strangers. We had our discussion about being good for the year, our expectations for bones and pressies, and took several shots to get one where we were both paying attention. When you meet a celebrity like Santa, it is hard to stay focused.

It's raining and dreary here, too. Sounds like you had a fun weekend. We saw Santa yesterday, too
ReplyDeleteNothing worse than wet feets! You have a favorite sheep, cool
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Since we don't have real sheep, our humans are our sheep. We have to herd them, take care of them, and make sure they don't get out of line. Some sheep just are better than other sheep. They pet more, they provide you with treats, and they play ball.
DeleteInteresting that she like Santa...Hope the weather clears up.
ReplyDeleteWe had rain on and off all weekend. I am happy to see the sun today! Maybe I stole it from you! :-)
ReplyDeleteOz

It was a rainy day here as well. We've never met Santa Paws but if we did we'd bark our fool heads off at him! BOL!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your Santa pictures!
ReplyDeleteThe rain is coming our way on wednesday with a little snow possible. Hope the snow just sticks to the grass. Thats a win win situation. No shoveling fur mommy and plenty of snow cookies fur us digs.
ReplyDeletewe had rain which messes up Cole's naturally curly hair. It would have been a bad day to get a picture. He's afeared of Santa anyway. LeeAnna at not afraid of color
ReplyDeleteIt has been raining non stop here. It's been oddly warm too. I guess that is good as nothing is freezing. But, it's coming. Tink has no desire to go outside. I gotta run out quick or I get all wet. Then I am cold cause the wind is so cold. It almost blows me over. ~Casey
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got to go see Santa! What did you ask him to bring you this year?
ReplyDeleteOh, are you going to share your pics with us? I'm not sure Rita would enjoy a visit with Santa. She's not a huge fan of strange men with facial hair! Probably best to keep her away from him! Or else she'll end up with coal in her stocking!
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited that you got to meet Santa already!!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
Dory, Jakey, Arty & Bilbo
Santa expects you to be good for a whole year?! That's so impossible for me! Tee Hee
