Bailey and Katy came to us as rescues. We lost Bailey in June of 2016 and Katy in November of 2022. We were blessed to have Annie join us in August of 2016. They have brought great love and joy to our immediate family and to extended family and friends. This blog will share their stories and issues related to Shelties. Some told from their perspective and others told from those that share this journey with them. Notice: This blog does have Amazon product links and Google Adsense

Rainy Day Blues
It's December. We should be enjoying snow cookies while we await the arrival of that jolly red suited guy who fills our stockings with toys and treats. Instead it looks more like when that bouncing bunny arrives that we can't chase because he brings Easter baskets of treats and toys. Do these treat bringers have their weather mixed up?
The squirrels are getting fat and lazy filling up on food, which means they are becoming more of a chore to chase. Yesterday one was bold enough to try to sun bathe on our porch!!! Then his friend joined him and the chase was on. First moths, now a late season squirrel surge. We need snow to help us with natural pest control.
I hope Santa knows I'm doing my best. Even shelties don't herd well in the rain.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure Santa Paws knows you are doing your best. Looks to me like you are doing some fine indoor strategizing on a rainy day.
ReplyDeleteIs is 58° and Rainy there Too??? BUTT WAIT ... tomorrow is supposed to be COLD and SNOWY. THAT will perk you up. Just don't be building any of those SNOWFREAKS... THEY can MULTIPLY better than a Third Grader and they will TAKE OVER. JUST SAYIN.
ReplyDeleteWe would much rather have rain than the ice they are forecasting for us here...although ice skating while chasing squirrels could be fun :)
ReplyDeleteOMD those pesky tree rats so need to be chased. Go get em we say.

(and Arran too, I guess)
Rain is no fun. Where's the snow? We should be getting some of that here within the next couple of days. I don't care for the snow because I have to drive in it and shovel it, but Maya & Pierson love it!
