Bailey and Katy came to us as rescues. We lost Bailey in June of 2016 and Katy in November of 2022. We were blessed to have Annie join us in August of 2016. They have brought great love and joy to our immediate family and to extended family and friends. This blog will share their stories and issues related to Shelties. Some told from their perspective and others told from those that share this journey with them. Notice: This blog does have Amazon product links and Google Adsense

Hanging in the Snow Bank
Annie has been very curious about the snow banks this Spring. Mom thankfully missed the shot of Annie rolling into the bushes and me, Katy, standing there panicked thinking she was eaten by the bush. Mom just laughed and called her and she bounced out like nothing was wrong. The girl is nuts, but she does love hanging out in the snow.

The Melt Before the Storm
We are due for a big storm today. As of Monday the weatherman says we could get another foot of snow cookies. Mom decided it would be interesting to get some pre-storm pictures to see how much melting has occurred since the last storm. We had 16 inches of snow last week, but it's March and despite Mother Natures best efforts Spring is coming. Spring snow keeps falling, but it doesn't have the staying power of winter snow.
We lost power in the last storm so we hope all of you stay safe and dry in this storm. That being said we are enjoying the last snow cookies of the season.

Thankful Thursday: The Snow Playground
The snow got heavier last Wednesday. We love it when the snow cookies fall from the sky. As we mentioned Mom has been getting a bit obsessed with the snow pictures.

The Snow Begins
Mom has become a little bit obsessed with getting snow pictures, so as long as we continue to have snow storms you can expect lots of pictures. This storm happened last Wednesday and Mom was having fun capturing our joy at the new snow.

Snow Cookie Delivery
We'd been out of snow cookies for a bit, but last Tuesday our order was delivered overnight and we went out to enjoy our new supply before it disappears again. Well Mom's hoping it disappears again. We think there is still time for more snow cookies before Spring arrives.

Snow Cooling
A little over a week ago we had a warm up into the high 50's and the snow pile started to melt. While the warmer weather pleased Mom we wanted to cool ourselves in the remaining snow and Mom felt she needed to capture our snow relaxation.

Baby It's Windy Outside
We are glad the Tuesday rains are gone. However Wednesday brought a cold wind. Mom kept trying to catch Annie's lion look, but didn't quite get the capture she was hoping for as she was doing her morning cleanup. Katy's hair doesn't spread out quite as wide as Annie's does in the wind. Annie's gets a wild look to it.
The rain did desimate our snow pile a bit. While we want more for Christmas Mom reminds us our two Grandmas and one Grandpa have yet to arrive so weather is a factor in them making it safely to see us this Christmas. So we have to find out how to make our request specific, more snow cookies only at times that don't interfer with holiday travel. This is a good deal to expect from a dog but we are working on it. We don't want to miss seeing the grandparents on Christmas.
Dog Dad dropped the last of the Christmas Cards off at the post office for the Blogville Card exchange unless we discover we have people sending us cards we didn't expect. Mom has a few other cards to get done but she's moving along. Wrapping is the next big project. Since Annie has an objection to the sound of tape this is a really interesting project.
